There were some flowers on the first very good album of Pascal (see here). There are some clouds and a thunder on the brand new one (not released yet. Release date : January 22). That's a major change. Not a matter of chance : Galgberget, their somophore record is much much heavier than Förbi Fabriken, their debut.

Let's take their new single Längtar Efter Dig (that you can listen to on MySpace). First, there is the bass which plays the part of a clap of thunder. Second, comes the rain - I mean the chorus - which is often the title of the song repeated and repeated all over and over again. This recipe is used for several songs. Heavy. Efficient. Noisy. This is the kind of record to be listened to as loud as possible. Eventually, when the record is over, you feel like an helicopter has just landed on your room.

I received the record just today. Have listened to it several times in a row, but have to listen to it more. My fav song so far ? Min Enda Vän where the lyrics deal with something about Elvis (Pascal is one of those rare bands which sing in Swedish... good thing for sure... but consequently I do not get what this is all about).

Two last things :
1 : Galgberget is not as radio-friendly as Förbi Fabriken which was actually not really radio-friendly.
2 : Galgberget makes for sure some absolute noise...

Il y avaient des fleurs sur le très réussi premier album de Pascal (voir ici). Il y a des nuages et un éclair sur leur tout nouveau deuxième disque (pas encore sorti. Dans les bacs le 22 janvier). C'est un changement majeur. Pas le fait du hasard : Galgberget, leur deuxième réalisation est bien plus bruyante que Förbi Fabriken, leur premier essai.

Prenez le nouveau single Längtar Efter Dig (que vous pouvez écouter sur MySpace). La chanson débute par une bass bondissante qui déclenche un coup de tonnerre et annonce de violentes pluies - je veux dire le refrain - qui consiste essentiellement en une phrase - souvent le titre de la chanson - répété à l'infini. Cette recette est employée sur plusieurs chansons. Efficace. Redoutable. Bruyant. Le genre d'album à écouter à fond les ballons. Avec au final, une fois les douze titres achevés, l'impression qu'un hélicopter vient de décoller dans votre chambre.

J'ai reçu le disque aujourd'hui. Je dois l'écouter davantage. Ma chanson préférée pour l'instant ? Min Enda Vän où il est vaguement question d'Elvis (Pascal est l'un de ces rares gropes à chanter en suédois... sans doute une bonne chose... mais je pige que dalle, du coup).

Deux dernières choses :
1 : Galgberget est encore moins successible de passer à la radio que Förbi Fabriken qui n'était déjà pas franchement rock FM.
2 : Galgberget correspond tout à fait à Absolut Noise : il est bien question ici de bruit absolu...
